@grindelia, if …
@grindelia, if they’re on a weight gain plan it doesn’t matter where the calories come from. They just need the calories. Besides, if they only eat lean fish/ brown rice/ vegetables, they’ll have to eat a lot more of them, which is scary in itself. They don’t eat proper food- they think they’re healthy by avoiding chips and chocolate and things, but they’re not. They’re very unhealthy. Getting them comfortable with eating pizza is not a bad thing.

@grindelia but rice and veggies are not enough to live on. most anorectics eat that negative calorie foods. they need them to gain weight and get nutrition back in their bodies. they have to have each of their servings every day.

I don’t think I …
I don’t think I could work in a clinic like this. Every bite of food — every hour, every day — is a struggle for these women. It just would wear on me, trying to get them to feed themselves. And it’s not that I don’t sympathize with their struggles. It’s just mind-numbing and mind-boggling and frustrating beyond belief that they are so fearful of eating.

Polly mentioned …
Polly mentioned that she attempted suicide from stress topped by 2 slices of pizza. She’s getting kicked out of ED rehab becuase insurence is too cheap to help anyone, and they’re feeding her pizza. Maybe that’s why she can’t eat the pizza today!
