How frustrating!!!! With bulimia it is very hard to break the cycle without meds. What does depression look like? What an ass, I think you should find another doctor if you can. Like we tell kids at the place I work. They have been abused. If someone abuses you keep telling until someone believes you. If you need help, keep telling until someone is compantent enough to hear what you are saying!!!

I lost like over 2 stone to bullimia, but i was quite over weight to begin with. (I lost 2 stone prior 2 tthis) now trapped in a vicious cycle. people tell me how good i look now, which makes me want to continue with it.
I have seen 3 diff concelours in about 5 years…for depression etc. Wasnt working. I went to the the doc’s and asked for some help with meds… told me i didnt look depressed. Despite the fact its on my records and he knows about my bullimia and self harm…

thank you! i’ve been suffering from disordered eating for 10-11 years & really testify to the horrible pain which come from this illness. oh! and i also would like to say this doctor is an idiot… maybe he would tell an alcoholic that the problem isn’t alcoholism but simply obsession… ok, bad example but its pretty strange and unprofessional what the dr said. very much lacking in expertise for eating disorders.
